This course provides a comprehensive approach to classroom instruction in the field of drafting. It provides in-depth coverage of the principles of computer-aided drafting (CAD) and its development from traditional manual drafting techniques. This course provides classroom instruction in reading industrial prints. It is designed to provide technical students with the fundamentals of industrial print contents, including drawing types, title blocks, tables, schedules, and symbols. This is a survey course designed to expose the student to the various major drafting disciplines of architectural, electrical & instrumentation, civil, structural, mechanical, and piping. This course may not be transferable to a University for use towards a 4-year degree program.

This is a survey course designed to expose the student to the various major drafting disciplines of architectural, electrical & instrumentation, civil, structural, mechanical, and piping.
DRFT 1500, Advanced Drafting & Discipline (4 Credit Hours)
1 lecture hours per week, 3 lab hours per week, 4 contact hours per week
This "Capstone" course allows the student to choose a focus drafting discipline from which a project will be designed, documented and drafted.
DRFT 2103, Pipe Drafting (3 Credit Hours)
3 lecture hours per week, 0 lab hours per week, 3 contact hours per week
This course focuses on the principles and terminology of pipe drafting. From basic terminology to mechanical equipment and their uses, to pipes, materials and specifications, to isos, the various elements of pipe drafting are explored. This course may not be transferable to a University for use towards a 4-year degree program.
